Climate change as of late has been causing a lot chaos and something that was once was only a concern for people of third world conuntries has now become a concern for citizens of first world countries. Energy security. Having a portable backup battery has now become an essential survival tool to have on-hand. It can charge your phone, provide light, and power a tankless water heater. That is right, a tankless water heater. True story. It was a Sunday night around 10:50 pm when the power company cut off the power to do an upgrade to some equipment.
It just so happened to be the time when my wife was getting ready to shower. But, our tankless water heater would not kick on because the internal electronics had no power. Since our tankless water heater is gas powered it just needed the electronics to be powered to control turning on the gas heater. Being prepared, lucky I had a portable backup battery with a built-in pure sine inverter I could use to provide power to the tankless water heater. Not only did it save the night but it scored points with the wife, allowing her to be able to take her nightly shower.
